Thanks for the post G-star.

Ive now had the clutch fitted to my 16V and what a difference! i went for the Sachs as suggest earlier and its great.

Do need to get a few things sorted now for the next MOT although i have some time to do so i want to get it all done asap, need to replace my front brake pipes so was wondering if anyway knows what i should be going for! is Stainless a good option or is there no real pointand if so is there much of an improvment?

Sorted out my dash illumination problem too, just replaced all the bulbs and away i went! i can now see how quick im travelling at night lol. I couldnt replace the bulbs in the heater control panel though as it looks to be a sealed unit, where would be the best place to pick up things like that? Also need a rear parcel shelf and Front Fox light glass covers but most places ive tried have not got any. If anyone knows of somewhere i can get these parts could you please let me know. Thanks.

Good stuff, heater control unit is a sealed unit, there is a link to tell you how to seperate it.
I had it sent to me by rubjonny, it's in german but the pictures are excellent. I'll see if I can dig it out for you.
Glass for fog lamps? I dunno GSF? Ebay? Classifieds on here? Volksmine?
i think you'll be struggling to find an unmolested rear shelf these days as most cars have had speaker holes cut into them.
However a foray into the scrappie may turn up gold as they want the earth for them on ebay etc.

If you cant find a decent mk2 parcel shelf for a reasonable price then a mk3 golf one will fit

reeeeally?, Interesting I had my mk2 and mk3 side by side yesterday transfering crap from one boot to the other and thought they looked like they would fit but didn't have time to double check. Fortunately though i have a mint mk2 one from my old 8v that i had squirrled away.

Cool thanks for the heads up, already tried a few scappers but they only have parcel shelves with 6*9 holes in  :embarassed:

Thanks for having a look for me. GSF unfortunatly dont do Fog lights for the MK2 anymore but may have sourced from Volksmine.

Just out of curiosity what should the 16V idle at? mines sitting at around 1500 when cold dropping to around 1250 then when nice and warm around 1000. Thanks

Revs sound about right. Think you will be lucky sourcing foglight glass as they normally come as a complete unit. Ebay do some decent ones though stay away from the cheap £25 set as they melt when they get hot and are a complete waste of time

Something like this is a bit more like it
