As stated abbove the cross was used a long time before the Nazi’s typicaly by Christians but I think the conection is made with bikers initally using it a as a  anti authoritarian statement.

Hod Rodders then picked it up in the US which in turn was used on the moddified VW Beetle’s and it seems to have now carried over to all older VW’s.

what i said was the iron cross had nazi connections, im aware it was adopted by hitler but think about it, but seriously iron cross on a GERMAN car, i dont think it needs any more explaining!

maltese cross is different to the iron cross, but most crosses of this time were very similar as they were awarded for bravery and empnhasised the cross shape or holy influence, as in christ was on your side etc, and no i havent been on wiki, i remember we studied in history gcse  :nerd:

the maltese cross is the bigger one out of them both
got my info out of books dont trust wikpediea  :laugh:
had a lot of it drummed into me from early age  by my dad
