boost problem

 I just got a 2001 gti 1.8t. When i got it there was a boost controller on it i took it off and now its only running .4 bar boost :cry: does any one have any advice it would be greatly appreciated

if it had a boost controller then the standard boost solenoid would of been replaced, try fitting a standard one back on

is that the n75 valve ? it was bypassed and and has been reinstalled still the same .4 bar could the valve be bad?

Could be that the previous owner has had the turbo`s actuator rod turnrd down to 0.4bar to run low boost and then the controller will reduce airflow to the actuator rod in stages to run higher boost levels.
