Avo 40mm Lowered Springs And Adjustable Dampers?
« on: 08 March 2009, 15:20 »
Does anybody have any thoughts on this set up on a 8v GTi?

I've been offered a complete set-up thats only around 6-8months old for £200!
(Or should I just buy brand new?)

My car went straight thru the m.o.t yesterday only needin a couple of bulbs and now i want to get it handling better coz i've been so pleased with it since i bought it last year, and now the mileage has just gone over 85k with a couple of recommendations from the garage this is goin to be my next little project so any thoughts and ideas would be good!!

To be honest £200 s/h is a lot of money when new coilovers are so cheap.

Trust me, as soon as you lower a car the ride will suffer, coilover set highish will be no worse than a lowering kit, only when you set them silly low will the ride really suffer.

I was advised by others on here NOT to buy AVO's when I was looking around for coilovers!
Good coilies with adjustable damping will cost £450 plus new so £200 is reasobnable.
I bought FK Konigsports and they are good but I dont change the settings!
