New owner-couple of questions
« on: 10 July 2004, 14:30 »
Hi guys.

My 1990 8v has a problem getting into 5th gear, it's as if there's no space between 3rd and 5th. Has anyone experienced this?

Does anyone still do the kits where you can put bigger disks on the front and keep your old calipers? I remember these from a few years ago, I think Larkspeed sold them.

My last Mk2 had G60 top mounts fitted on the suspension, can anyone tell me where I can find these?

Cheers

Brian

I had the same problem with fith, and it turned out the smaller selector rod had snapped at the end!  Replaced with a good one from the scrappy, now all is well in 5th gear land :)

If 5th gear does go, you can replace it without dropping the box apparently, cos its right on the end!  Don't ask me how though its not something I've done meself mind ;)

Also filling it up with some good quality oil helps!
