my old bubble shape rover 200 had a -40mm gmax kit fitted, and that was harsh but not too uncomfortable.

that car handled better than my gti, but the steering was too light.

I don't think a semi will give the same results

I had  gmax shocks / springs on a mk5 fiesta (-60mm - one if not the lowest they did). Never again! The ride was so hard, i would wince everytime i saw a bump in the road - felt like i had concrete bricks instead of springs.
I never drove it on a track so i cant comment for handling, and I wasnt stupid enough to thrash it round corners in my residential area.

May i first direct you to http://www.gmaxsuspension.co.uk/p1250466.htm, it does stipulate that that spring kit will lower 80mm.

Not driven on a track and didn't thrash it? "cant comment for handling", so what exactly is your input then?
That you lowered your car and expected it to ride like it did when it was on factory suspension?

When I say i used to drive round roundabouts @ 65 this was on the 70 limit dual carriageway that runs through my city, perhaps not the most grown up thing to do but not technically breaking the law and definitely not a residential area.

Yeah thanks for that link but i was just givin my 0.02p on my experience with the brand. My 'input' was that the ride was excessively harsh. No need to get defensive - my comment was not in response to your post.

Sound, no hard feelings max.

sharing our 2ps worth is why we're here after all and not out doing something "useful"

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.
