Ree-mapping a Lupo
« on: 09 February 2009, 11:19 »
Morning Nick/Ben,

My mate has got a 1.4 Lupo Sport, I think it's 100bhp as standard, obviously no turbo.  Can it be re-mapped?  If so, any idea what he'd be looking at afterwards?

Hello m8,

We are having a mad week, trying to do 2 weeks work on one week.

If it is a post 1999 with drive by wire running the Bosch me7.1 ecu then it can be remapped.  The remap wont give the wow factor.  The result will be around 6bhp-8nm max, sharper throttle response, and the power will be stronger higher up in the rev range.  The remap can be complimented with a exhaust or sports cat to help free some more power up.   IMO for £200 which incs a Pipercross filter, its worth remapping.

If he wants more power then stuff a 1.8t under the tiny bonnet..

Nick

He's bought a custom sports exhaust I think, and he's de-catted it!
