hi
folks

sorry for placing this in here aswell as audio but need a mk5 answer.
my jvx kw avx810 headunit has just been fitted today at a cost of 113 quid, heres the question  at the moment when i take the key out it still stays on and power to the ipod is still avail, to kill power i have to detach the front facia and remove ipod as you will agree this will get a pain in the arse oiver time ,  right for what the guy said after this was all fitted was the golf does not have an accesory switch on the ignition (fair enough) it would have to be wired via fuse box, but this would mean the headunit will not come on until the key is fully round, he says this will damage/cause probs with glowplugs/ecu if i sat there and watched the unit in that position.
i'm sure this prob has been overcome before does anybody have any answers?

thanks

p.s fitted my new alloys on fri and on sat morn the wife kerbed one of them, i'll post pics of them when car all clean

  • fully functioning
the guy who fitted it is talking chocolate, there is a remote signal

it should work the same as the oem radio - comes on with ignition, turns off with ignition, but can be powered on independently if you press the power button on the stereo even with the keys out.
