intermittent rear wiper fault
« on: 05 February 2009, 04:32 »
Has anyone suffered from an occasional rear wiper failing to work. One the engine is switched off and started again it works again

it wont wipe or wash/wipe

Any thoughts welcome, apart from dirty ones - keep them to yourself

I think early Mk5 Golfs did have the occasional problem with the rear wiper - which I think was rectified with a new wiper motor assembly.

What model year is yours?  You can tell from the 10th digit of your VIN.

Mine had a mind of its own once,  as TT said - dealer replaced the motor.

I thought mine was fcuked once as it wouldn't turn off. Turned out the rear hatch was open and it acts as a warning, how clever.
