which cam belt kit ??

i need a new cam belt kit for my m reg 16v

can some body tell me which kit i need please

is it with automatic belt tensioner or without??

where is the best place to get and how much should i be looking to pay, i guess a water pump would be helpful too???

i'm not fitting it, my hgv mechanic at work as said he will do it if i get the parts

depends where you are,   vee w serives  are optimal IMO   


cant rember prices  the belt is quite cheep but the tensioner is a bit more costly

the tensioner you need depends on the age ofthe car, the ABF engine could have had either, though M is quite late.  However who is to say the engine is original, or that someone hasn't converted it to the early tensioner.  Best thing to do is have a look at what you have:

Helpfully the picture of the late one is on the back face, which doesnt really hel,p you ID it. However if you compare it to the early one it should be obvious if yours is the late tensioner, it has a whole lot more 'gubbins' on the face of it.
