Golf 3 16v suspension
« on: 23 June 2004, 22:14 »
Can anyone give me any advice regarding the handling on my golf ? Tends to wallow around corners...have been told that a set of good springs will do the trick. Maybe Eibach or H&R ?

Also Im gettin lumpy tick-over (after replacing, plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rota arm, airfilter, oil, fuel filter.....) Thinking it maybe the fuel pressure regulator ?

Advice pls chaps!  ???

The eibachs will do the job fine, common problem with mk3s, the front springs are far too soft.
As for your lumpy tick over, check all the vacuum hoses around the throttle body, and check the vacuum hose that goes in the fuel pressure regulator.
Also check the timing.

Get the rear suspension bushes checked.

My car just failed its MOT on that alone and the handling has improved no end. Apparently its a common fault.

Want to lower mine but only by about 20mm.
Most spring kits are 40mm lowering. Anybody know of any 20mm drops???

Anyone ever thought about just getting a stiffer anti-roll bar?
Have looked at prices - bout ?230-?250 so bout the same as good set springs/dampers.
