dates and valves
« on: 03 January 2009, 08:42 »
Hi,

Talking to the gf's grandfather the other night, it would appear he owned one of the first 16V golfs, dealer sold, in the country, just wondering if a) it would be  a Mk1 (reg. D220 ...) and b) if it would even be a GTi or not?

Cheers in advnace, Jay

Ps, I'm also looking for this car to show him what its like now. If anyone has any info on this car that'd be great :-)

Mk1 Golfs were NEVER made in 16v guise. And a D plate is the third year into the mk2 shape. As for finding the car, go into the Mk2 section under this section and look through the Mk2 images near the top of the section. Hope this helps.

not true, do some research into the 16s ;)

also i believe there may have been similar aftermarket conversions done in the uk too which were dealer approved?
