« on: 13 January 2009, 08:20 »
Hi all,

I am considering selling my beloved Golf - I am going travelling later this year and am considering selling my car in an effort to raise some extra cash!

How much you guys reckon its worth?

Details:
1999 'T' Reg in Silver
1.8T AGU Engine
100k Miles (Full Service History - Not all VW)
6 months tax
8 months MOT
Full Recaro Interior
18" New RS4 Wheels (Good tread on all tyres)
40mm Koni Springs
CD Changer in the boot
Silvatec Front Indicators

Needs new brakes and pads at the front) which will be changed before sale!

What you guys reckon?

I'd say it totally depends on how desperate you are!  Advertise early at a higher price to be negotiated down.

I paid £1100 for one, but it had 170k, needed work for MOT, and I knew the person.  They have replaced it with a 2.0gti, with 70k, and are paying £3k.

Being that yours is a 1.8T, it should be a bit more desireable.  I'd start around £3k and see what interest you get.  If you have the standard parts, get them on, sell the rims and suspension seperate.  The car will sell easier and you'll get cash for the selling bits.
