Rear Fog Lamp fault
« on: 09 January 2009, 19:09 »
Hi All

I have a warning appearing on my dash saying the rear fog is 'defective'. I have tried 5 bulbs all the same type and rating as the one removed, and it still does not work... When switching the lights from 'auto' to 'side' to 'main beam' the rear brake lights appear to flash once, does this perhaps indicate a wiring or earth fault? Is it possible to remove the trim from the boot lid to get to the wires (without breaking it)?

Unfortunately my cars out of warranty so i want to try sorting it myself before going to the stealers!!

Any help would be appreciated - especially with the freezing fog here at the moment

Cheers

Personally I really am not sure but I would at least phone your dealer, ask for the parts dept and tell them the problems you are having. Specifically the flashing brake lights as this may be a pointer to a warning or a cause of some sort that they might understand.
