Had my gti a few months now, time for some questions!
It is a May 2006 UK car. My understanding is that these have 3yr warranty - 2yr manufacturer and 3rd year dealer?
I didn't buy the car from the dealer - are they still obliged to honour the 3rd yr on the warranty regardless? (luckily the original supplying dealer is my local dealer). Are the 3rd yr T&Cs just the same as first 2? (ie same coverage etc)
If so obviously I want to get it sorted out for free before the warranty expires!
Onto the issues.
MEGA condensation now that the cold weather is here - talking about 10mins from cold to de-mist (I'm using the top left button for front screen de-mist). I've read on here that boot seal and pollen filter are prime suspects? None of the carpets are damp, and I don't see any water in the boot. Has anyone else had it as bad as this? Drives the wife batty in the morning! (don't really like to leave the car running in the drive either - but wiping the condensation just means a horrid streaky window when the sun finally comes out) Any further suggestions?
I have the low speed full lock steering rack noise - I thought that was fixed in early 2006 builds? Suppose my car could be an earlier build but only registered in May of that year?
I have the knocking noise coming from glovebox on startup - but thanks to this site I now understand that is 'normal'.
Anything else I should be checking over and trying to get sorted warranty wise before it expires? ECU update?
