Alternatively, you could get a windscreen bonded in as per G60 and Rallye's. Will make the body more rigid too, but you will pay for it!

is it bonded using the same seal as non bonded? or straight to the frame?

do you know if the strip is still available from vw? is it reusable? might be worth converting to this as i now have 4 growing stonechips in the windscreen!

apparently this is discontinued, but it seems it should be included with a new screen. but it seems the screen is also discontinued!  its still best to ring VW direct as my copy of ETOS wont show if part numbers have been replaced since the software came out, it can only update prices for the part numbers actually in the program!

renfrew car breakers have 5 golf mk 2 in stock,hawkhead rd at paisley have 3 in stock,
