i personally love the old school 4 light grilles

but it is personal choice :)

make sure you get UK spec headlights as a lot of the ones i have seen are euro spec (left hand drive) boesn't bother me as i live in holland LOL

the ineer spots just unplug , but then tape the plug up as the water will get in

you'll notice the lack of spots if you do any night time country road driving.

I didnt notice the difference with uprated headlight bulbs over the candle standard ones...

I'll probably upset a few now! crosshairs are just a little bit 5years ago now, and in my opinion,  don't cut the cool mustard any more! 4  brand new O/E lamps (Hella) are dirt cheap from the likes of GSF and make the front end look real crisp! oh and they work well too...

go for what you like m8 dont worry about keeping up with the jones's as long as your dub looks clean and tidy it doesnt matter what grill set up you go for as for the smoked cross hairs they go for about 40notes on ebey or better still grab the latest vw performance mag there in there for 89.99 rhd new.

plus i dont think theres any such thing as so last year with these golfs to be honest apart from spending sh!t loads of wedge on em where pretty limited to what we can do to them without changing the overall standard look.

ive got a single and quad grill and every now and then i like to swop them around for a change i got hella lamps and spots for the standard grill and crystal smoked for the single  1....ive even got standard 8vavle rear lenses and 16vavle 1's to....

so if i was you keep the old grill slap on a single with smoked cross hairs and an eyebrow 'pukka'

all i can say is make sure your lenses are 'e' marked. its worth spending more to get the right lights. also cheaper tinted lights tend to look a bit bluey grey rather than just grey.
the same goes for grills, get the best you can afford as quality varies alot! bonrath grills are the best but are pretty hard to find nowadays.
