Cabby steering and shoulder pain....
« on: 27 December 2008, 12:09 »
Since getting my Clipper I've been suffering with a really bad case of shoulder pain, so bad in fact that it's stopping me sleeping.
I finally managed to work out it's the Golf's fault as I didn't drive it for a week...
The problem has gone away, and I never had this problem with my old MK2.

The thing I'm trying to work out is seeing as I've replaced the seats, and to be honest they sit in a very different place to the originals, generally higher and not slopped back as much, is this likely to cause the problem.
I think I injured my shoulder a long time ago, but the steering on this car is exacerbating the problem and I really don't want to get rid of it over this.

Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this after changing seats?

Also I'm looking at the possibility of fitting power steering to the golf and there seem to many suggestions.
Corsa eps seems to be a popular choice and I think it's probably the easiest solution or even the EPS from a clio. Does anyone have any experience of this and have any slightly more technical recommendations.

Personally I love the non power steering on this thing. After the hideous power steering on the Mitsubishi colt we used to have, I'd rather stick with no PS. It's not like I can't turn the thing, I can easily it just seems to totally aggravate my shoulder problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of where to go with this?

sopunds like you may have fitted a seat without height adjust on the base, do you know where the new seats came from and do you have the old seats still?
