strange hot start 8v digi
« on: 18 December 2008, 07:01 »
Morning all , my car seems to have developed a bit of a wierd problem.... :angry:if i stop the car to pop into the shops, when i restart it ... say about 10 mins later (still warm) it starts ok but runs like shi! .... missfires when revved .. but once you start driving it sorts itself out. this only happens when warm!! could the maf be on its way out?  also one last thing.. whats the best way to remove the downpipe(dont say undo bolts , nuts lol) from manifold or from head??
cheers chaps

i had a similer problem that bothered me for months progressavly getting worse

try changing the blue temp sensor first , i changed every thing on mine to no avail  :undecided:

i turned out to be the connector to the ecu

and the lambda probe

to test just unplug the probe (if you have one fitted)

do you have a lambda probe ???

if so unplug it (behind the inlet manifold)

then see what happens , check the plug on your ECU is clean from green connections

pull the plug off the main under car fuel pump, then turn the key 1 click.  you should hear the in-tank pump prime.  repeat the test when the car is warm too, when you see the problem :)
