MK2 handle well?

My car handles nicly on 15s, A friend has a 16V on 19s

I've experimented with several wheel and tyre combos in the past and I have to say that in my opinion I do prefer 17's.
Tyres fouling the wheel arches at the front is a bit of a problem if you run standard arches, and aceleration is compromised.
Taking things on a bit further, the weight of bigger wheels can be a disadvantage to general performance and handling. Unsprung weight=bad  :'(

Not if you fit larger rims in order to fit bigger breaks Faster breaking = More time at higher speeds
