Why are Mk2 Golf's cheaper in the North West??
« on: 03 June 2004, 16:32 »
I am always on the look out for another mk2 Golf GTI.

I have looked in the Cars for Sale section.

e.g. jv wants more than ?1500 for his (which is a sweet motor) I do want but it's tooo far 4 me to travel to check it out  :'(

But I was just beaten to a MINT Black 1990 mk2 with just 86k on the clock (with ALL history 2) for only ?1400 from a dealer! & the month before with a 16v 95k 89 model for ?900.

Has anyone noticed this 2, down south all the mk2's seem to cost about ?500-?1000 more  ???

It's a north/south thing, it's always there, cars, houses, petrol etc.

Plus you northen monkeys don't know the value of anything !  ;D

You'll sell a classic GTI for peanuts, but then spend ?5000 on a gold chain from Argos !!

to quote a VW engineer, "the Mk1 was the prototype, the Mk2, the real thing!"

davidhawkins_78, I'm not a bling man myself,  I'm a metal head  ;D

?1100 is a great price for that 16v, there is sum Golf fans near me but they are kids & 1 has put a fixed spoiler on the rear!!! like what you get on a R34 Skyline!!!

These are the type of mk2's that are always for sale around me & i don't care how cheap the golf is i don't want it to look like a pug106

I will have 2 keep on looking.

Oh there is a MK3 VR6 56k for ?2500 near me, but I think it's a early model
