I think I have covered half of mountains in Switzerland that day. Narrow, wet, steep mountaneous roads, with fog so heavy that one could not see ANYTHING further than 10 meters ahead. And no fences or railings along those roads. I some some gravestones on roadsides, someone was unlucky.
I was scared!

I know what you mean.. I drove a Mk5 R32 to Gibraltar via Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy and Spain.  In Italy there is a very big hill (a mountain by UK standards ) which I drove up as you can see the whole of Turin from there.  I was sh1tt1ng myself on the way up and down as the road was narrow and there was a sheer drop to the city which was far below - and no fences and sharp blind bends in the road.  I drove up all the way in 1st gear and could smell something burning from the car when I got up there - probably cooked the DSG gearbox

some guys where hanging on my ass on the way up the hills in the fog, then they passed me when they had the first opportunity and disappeared from view. I guess they know those roads and are used to driving them on daily basis. But I am a city slicker in a classy car (compared to their skodas and rusted japanese rides).  :embarassed: But it was fun, especially on the way down in the valley when the sun came thru the clouds.
