92 golf gti cdl

i have been trying for ages to locate a central locking master switch(mine is duff and i have thrown it out thinking i could get a new one) located on the o/s/f door of my mk2 golf gti 5dr 92 model but with no luck
vw dealers keep telling me it is a solenoid, but it is not, it was a black switch box about 6" long and 1" wide.
anyone got any clues?

its a weird thing with a switch in it that actuates the vacuum pump so opens or closes the central locking, mine is blue

I think I might have that blue pump somewhere in my garage. I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know. I know there was one on my doors that I replaced with my electric soleniods, so it's either in there somewhere or been thrown out.
