uprated clutch

is it worth uprating the clutch on my 200bhp soon to be 240bhp golf as mine has slipped a couple of times,or is the oe one ok? if its a upgrade then which one and how much aprox??

Stock clutch should be good for 300 lbft of torque, you *should* be producing around 260 with the work you have planned. It is something I've considered, I heard Stealth do an uprated system (helix or something) for around ?500 fitted. Might give Vince a ring myself when I've sorted everything else.

il leave it and see how it goes as its only sliped a couple of times. i read a piece on another forum about  the clutch getting glazed over and it says to put the handbrake on and try to pull away a couple of times till it smells then it should have burnt all the glaze of. now i know brakes have this problem but do clutch's and have you heard of this??
