Cobra Alarm?
« on: 31 October 2008, 08:48 »
Right, I had to have my car lifted home on a lowloader from work last night (couldnt tow it, too low ), because my cat 1 Cobra alarm has unsynched, had the RAC out, he disconnected it to stop the friggin thing going off but now I need it either reconnecting or taking out, none of my dash lights are working etc becasue of the immobiliser.

Can any of you guys so this or do you know any one that can?

Phone them again, to recconect it, or at least show you how to do it.
Life is like a skid mark on a toilet bowl.  Sooner or later someone\\\'s going to pi$$ you off.

Issue is it was already fitted when I had the car, i have the reciept, instructions and the code card, but the code etc wont work, its a wiring issue.

Plus it was installed in Leeds, I live in Stoke,

Cobra alarms are fairly common in the UK. Try a Google search or telephone directory to see if there is an agent in your area. Failing that, a competent auto electrician may be able to help. Don't go to another alarm place that will not cover your alarm. They will say yours is obsolete and not repairable or some B.S like that and try to sell you a new one.
You could give the guys in Leeds a call and see if they know of a place in your area.

it is easy to cut one out ,

first find the brain of the alarm , easy to find follow the LED wires ,

the imobiliser will cut 2 ciruits , usually the ign feed under the steering wheel cowl , and the starter wire , again under the steering cowl, cut the alarm wires out and re connect the two pieces of wire from the car .

the rest is quite easy , just follow the wiring back , got some earth's some indicator feed's , door light switch , and maybe some interior sensors

if the car won't go now then have a go at cutting it out yourself , nothing too loose fella
