hi all,

posted ages ago and been lurking since, the wife (and myself being honest) love the GTI, finally in a better position and looks like she/we can now get one. (i now ride a motorbike)

going to pop to the local garage in the week where they have this baby for sale...

Spec is...

5 Doors, Manual, Hatchback, Petrol, 2005 05 Reg, Blue. Insurance Group:17, sport leather heated seats, arm rest, climate control, traction control, cd radio, cd changer, alloys f fog lamps, auto lights & wipers, remote locking, alarm,69,000 miles with service history

£9995

being honest i do have a hang up about mileage, is this alot?? a mate popped in to see it for me and said its clean BUT 2 of the alloys are in hell of a state (white wormed to the max!) also not much tread left on 3 tyres.

the wife will be mainly using the car and at a push she will only be doing about 6k a year....

oh what colour is it? its not blue??? its more of an off very dark green??

cheers for any advice tips...

oh for those that are in the know, how much do you reckon they would part ex a 1.4TDCI Fiesta 52reg? (i know its a 'how long is a piece of string' question)

PX maybe £2500, nt alot in this climate unfortunatly. Me personally id be looking for something alot lower mileage. Tis alot for a 3yr Motor.

Is it a VW dealer this Car??.

the Colour is Graphite Blue, not very many around in that colour. Keep hunting i would say, tis a buyers (not a trade in market) at the mo.

Personally I wouldn't worry about the mileage with the full history. Will you put many miles on it? Cheap car that!

dont worry about milage as i do 20k a year in ine so just check history and look at the overall condition of the car as you can tell when a car has been looked after

Looks like a bargain, nice colour too. Mileage won't be a problem as long as it has FSH and all the warranty work has been done.

The current retail on your old car is £4,082 so Phil is pretty much bang on with £2,500

Seems a fair price, but I'd want a new set of good tyres thrown in. Looks like the front don't match the back anyway. A set of GoodYear Asymmetrics (probably the best tyre) will set you back around £500.

Not much you can do about the alloys. You can get them refurbed for around £100 if you can find someone to do it (the polished face means you need a specialist). I haven't been able to find anywhere local to do mine, but mine aren't too bad yet. All you can do is use this as a haggling point.
