Setting the ride height on Hottuning/raceland coilovers

This is probably a pretty stupid question, but i've just received my coilovers in the mail today and am about to take them to the garage to fit. I want them to set the suspension to a 40mm drop, but i naively thought there would be height markers on the struts to make it easy to set all four corners the same, and to measure how much you were lowering it by (from standard). How do you do this properly?

Also, i've been quoted £190 to have all four coilovers fitted, plus front G60 top mounts and replacement wishbones with pre-pressed bushes (all supplied by me), and the camber/tracking adjusted. Does this sound reasonable? My local garage have always been good in the past but i thought i'd check.

I'd consider doing it myself but i think i'd have to shell out a fair amount in tools plus the camber/tracking, so it would probably not make much difference financially.

Fitted my Hottuning coilies couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, it's adjusted by the eye. But remember, turn collar anti-clockwise to loosen/lower the car. Hope this helps.

190 sounds a bit much. I got quoted 80, but the back sus is a doddle, so do them if you can and get the garage to do the fronts.

or you can measure from the centre of the wheel to the wheel arch that gives you base measurment , then once both rear are the same set the front the same way you did the rear and see if you like it if not adjust more

very time consuming and a pain if you need to remove the wheel's to do it , but once it is sat you will be glad you spent the extra time messing about 

i did this on my old carbed XR3 and wow it was ace like it was on rail's

i am now fella yeah moved ere about 6 month's ago to be with my girly friend 

the car was a feature car in "fast ford" cos it was the first road car with R1 bike carb's fitted

also had a 2.0 zetec in it , coilover's ,5 speed box and MINT original interior

i will post some piccy's up of the feature when i find the magazine if there is interest

Cool... I may be moving to holland myself in the next few weeks!! Have lived there before very cool place!!! Yeah id love to see more pics of your motor!! My mate has an RS1600i He has rebuilt. V. Nice!
