Serious Problem
« on: 06 October 2008, 22:13 »
Hey guys, ok, just comnig back from college today and all of a sudden car cuts out, no jerking, just softly cuts out like its ran out of fuel (it hasn't) AA couldn't help (well he towed it but.  .  not the help i really wanted!)

I imagine its got to be fuel related, although Im open to suggestions of specific sensors or hoses coming off, it will start but barely, also, while its trying to die if i touch the accelerator it kills it.

HELP!

NICE ONE!

Cheers for the quick reply mate, ill have a go at them tomorrow, was already thinking it may be the ECU or. . . fuel pump, more likely ECU I thinking as it did actually run for a minute, lumpy as hell but it wouldnt do even that without fuel. . . will see tomorrow. Cheers again.

To check the fuel pump relay... When you turn the ignition on (light come on dash, not start the car) do you hear the fuel pump buzz ?? If not then chances are its the fuel pump relay !!
