Anti Roll Bar - what/where to buy?
« on: 04 October 2008, 20:16 »
Evening all.

Replaced the TRE's today, and noticed one of the rubber joints on the ARB has gone.  As the car has done a few miles, it makes sense to replace the whole lot (and planning to keep the car now and change all the shocks/springs next year).

I usually get parts from Sutton Auto Factors (online as buypartsby?).  Anyone know if they'll be able to supply a new bar and all the bushes needed, or are we looking at a stealer jobbie?  What exactly do I need to do the job, and are there any guides to do so?

Why replace the whole lot?? just buy new bushes (powerflex if you want it stiffer?).... The bar will be vw only and I've never heard of anyone buying a new one as they dont really wear out, but they do get rusty with age and hammerite will fix that

Well the bar itself is pretty ropey, and I wouldnt't think they're that much to replace?  The links on each end seem a little fiddly, so would've thought it easy enough just to unbolt and replace the lot?

I'll stick my head back under and see how easy to refurbish then..
