Replaced v-belts recently. Fortunately I was able to do this without having to undo the pivot bolt for the alternator - which is seized and has an allen head which has been rounded.

I would like to replace this bolt at some point - anyone had this problem before?
THANK YOU ALL.

Someone told me easy-outs are good for this. not sure where you get them from but an internet search should tell you something....

will the bracket come off the engine ??

if it will then you can work on a bench and warm the bracket up :)

just keep your eyes open for an 8 valve mk3 non aircon multivee setup.  and swap them over when you feel like it as there is no rush
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
