Normal practice is to come up close to check your plate for ANPR and then drop back to text book distance and position. Literally continuous tailgating is not on!! Neither is cutting in unless it's to slow or stop you.

There is close.. and then there is tailgating. Its 1am for ffs! I am no more than 2miles from my house to which the car is registered, and driving at the speed limit. If I wasnt so tired from the drive I would have noted his plate and put in a complaint.

In fact if I had not noticed him approaching the RA from which he started following me I probably would have put my foot down, as I dont usually take too kindly to people driving soo close. But the overtake would have no doubt have ended in a head-on for him if I hadnt eased off..
