Can i get that Piece of sealing rubber off that seems to clip over the top of the screen without any major screen and trim surgery?
I want to get the stone chips and small bubbles done before it gets too cold and wet.
I have had a dig around and it looks like i can get it off but i dont want to bugger it untill i have the money for the body shop

Hmmmmm really the screen needs to come out to remove the seal, and to get the screen out the rubber strips down the roof line HAVE to be taken FULLY off...many bodgers just bend them back rendering them useless and they are metal lines and will never sit flush again, hence letting water under, leading to rust problems

Sh@T i knew it
Spose i can get screen done on insurance as it does have a few Chips, dont really know how it passes MOT every year!
How i wangle that to coincide with the body shop will be a little Arthur Daily me thinks, I could ask him to sort it all out for me and just pay it but i reckon it would be pricey got to put another £150 on the body cost?!!!
Could be the first on the Forum to have a Viynl Roof and just leave the Rust

well when i had my other car fully resprayed, i wanted all new glass, so when it went into the bodyshop i just called my insurance and had them send autoglass once the car was ready to be rebuilt.., was no problem, but it had to go to their (autoglass) premises as we had modified to tailgate so autoglass had to make up a seal, still only paid my 50 quid excess...bonus

could be worth calling a glass plac and asking how much they want to remove it....I did this on my old driver and they took all the bonded glass out for £30 (cash in hand )
just make sure you store it right as I broke a piece while in my garage!! I wanted that glass In my gti as it was brown tint and not blue!! and they said to refit would be another £30 tops

Cheers guys, i will have a word down the shop and see what he can do then use insurance if its mega bucks.
This car was sposed to be a stop gap between MK2s but two years on i cant stop myself wanting to modd it up and get it looking perfect, This is normally the catylist for me to get 75% through then smack it into somthing like a Mini Cooper!
So the logic is if i want a Valver or a VR i got to do it up?!
