Petrol gauge broken

My petrol gauge won't seem to go any lower than the quarter tank line  :angry:. Still goes up tho.....
Can it be fixed??

Might be the sender that's at fault - not done it myself but believe you can replace it by going in through an access hole in the boot floor  :smiley:

ok thanks, what do i have to look for? Iv only had the car 6months and im a real novice! :embarassed: I'm always reading what other people are talking about and i don't have a clue what there on about and all these parts they mention lol I'm starting to get annoyed with myself cos i wanna know about these things :embarassed:. Can i just ask how you learnt?

ive been teaching myself everything,it helps if you buy another golf to use for spares,then it doesnt matter if you break things,gotta say though,i think the haynes manual has got me into more sh@t than its got me out of.lol.
