Didn't damage my paint when I removed the red & silver GTI strips off my replacement door. I think it can damage rubber though, or was it silicone??

just use trusty old t-cut. it should take off the tyre marks. my mate had the same problem when his tyre burst and left scuff marks all over his wing. Or if if is a pain then use some cutting compound from halfords etc.

As nogama3 said, try some rubbing down compound from any car accessory shop, it is quite abrasive but if you use it gently and then use a good polish afterwards it should take off the rubber. I used it recently to take the tar spots off the side of my car, then I used a cut and shine polish afterwards and it worked a treat.

Sorry couldn't resist, my girlfriends AX has been driving me up the wall, the AA wanted ?750 to fix it, I got the parts for about ?80. Bloody ripoff merchant garages
