Imobiliser not turning off....!

This morning I got into my MK2 after turning the alarm off, and tried turning the imobilisor off but just will not turn off, which meant the car would not start. I tried uncountable times but just would not turn off. I used the car last night and was perfect.

Any ideas.. Would disconnecting the batttery and reconnecting it will help?

I hope I get it sorted for the Westside show this weekend...!

does the control box have a key on it to disable it, and do you have a key? also what make immobilisor is it?

Yeah it has a key on control box, but I tired numerous times by touching the key onto it. The make is Cobra.

our polo one has like a bike lock key on it to disable the alarm/immob

Nah sorry mate, there is not a physical key to turn it off. The car is fitted with a seperate Immobilisor to the alarm.

right, are you bothered about keeping the immobiliser?  if it was me id rip it out!  depends how confident you are at joining up wires though.  But before that lets try to track down whats gone wrong!

when you turn the key 1 click, does the fuel pump prime?

The problem is definately the immobilisor as when touching the fob onto the immobilisor the light does not go out as it should do. I am at work at the mo and cannot remember if i could hear the fuel pump. I think i did of the top of my head....lol

ah right well thats gonna be a problem, i take it the fob has no batteries? do you have another one?

Unfortunately not... Only got one Fob when i bought the car. I will check when I get home whether there is a Battery inside.... HOPE THERE IS....!lol
