problems insureing due to engine swap :(
« on: 24 August 2008, 15:58 »
insurance company's are really pissing me off atm.    they say we'll insure this and that and it's all good, so after wasting a load of time giving them details they go sorry we don't want to know.  is it me are are they all f**king muppets.

i have a syncro with an ABF in it, with some bigger brakes and some missing seats and carpet  why the hell do they hate it so much ??   ok it goes quite well but it isn't exactly that quick,   have had quite a few bigger, faster, and more powerfull cars and some that had lots of hedge finding potential and also with enigne swaps and bigger anchors. and they were all pretty easy to insure.     expensive due to age and not much no claims but that said only ever had one claim against me and it wasent exactly expensive ( less than the premium ).  apparently i can pay thay off and that'll get me 2 more yrs no claims taking me to 5yrs.   but if you have to pay for the prang to get insurance anyway dosen't that sort of defeat the point of haveing insurance,  ARGGGH.

also what is this crap about only having
no claims on one policy,  if i have 3 yrs no claims on  one policy why can't i have it on all of them i thought insurance was based on risk and paying for the blokes house in spain,   so when i get a 2nd policy out why cant i have the same discount on that one as well it's not like it's suddenly made be 50% more likely to crash and the total distance i drive won't change, or dose the insurance man buy another house somewhere else  ?     i think there sort of taking the piss a bit  i have to insure a van and car anyway they can be on the same policy for some reason now it comes to insureing my toy and appently i need to build up another set of no claims.  so i'm wondering if i had a prang at soem point in the futcher would i loose potently 3 sets of no claims
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
