tdi chip
« on: 06 May 2004, 13:45 »
hey guys i got a tdi but its the 90 bhp, i've read in the golf mag that the max it can be turned up to is 112bhp because the ECU or something is different on these.
anyone got any idea cos i looked at revo and i don't think they chip the 90 bhp. whats the max i can get without creating too much damage to the engine and whats the price?

Cheers guys keep up the good work.

Hello mate,

Take a look at this:

http://www.dieselchiptuning.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=51&products_id=303&osCsid=7868d9857a426c2bf2cc36f38d0ae24b

This gives an increase of 20bhp, which would take you to 110. The blurb says that this is the lowest possible figure you can expect, and a further 5-8 bhp is likely. The box also has a setting to take into account an uprated filter which, should you fit it, with the different setting would give you a further 7 bhp, so you will be pushing out 120+

The other benefit of this box is that its fully removable come service time, so VW will never know that you're running it, just in case you have any warranty issues!

The guy at  East Coast is a nice bloke, and he carries lot of Golf bits at good prices, just don't go too mad with the credit card!

nice one mate, cracking link. i'll give them a ring, it seems pretty straight forward to fit, and remove, the car isn't under warranty anymore.
the car goes alright its just all these petrol heads in their novas are bragging about power to weight ratios and all that sh*t, where as its what under the bonnet that counts right guys, some of them would pick a Nova gsi or SR instead of an R32, nuts or what.

With the torque increase that you'll see with that box I don't think you'll have too much trouble sticking with a 1.8T once you're on the move, let alone some spunk-bubble in a nova  ;D

No mate, mine is a PD150, so I am a fellow oil burner  ;D

The headlamps I'm running are just in the UK now (well, proper RHD ones anyway). I believe the anni's ran smoked clusters but these are full-on black ones. Make the car look much meaner from the front.

I got them off the guy from East Coast, and they were a bargain at ?150!
