Was driving home from work, sitting in the traffic and it started spitting of rain. Turned the wipers on and boy were they slow, so slow infact that they stopped half way up the screen, indicators constantly on (dim) and full beam light on the dash!! WTF? Had to call the RAC out as i was going out to my girlfriends and needed my lights as when i turned them on, the wipers started and stopped and again, the indicators stayed on!! I was about to jump out and run as i thought it was possesed, thats what the woman at RAC said she would do anyway!! RAC man came, pulled all sorts of relays and fuses out, re-earthed my car at the battery, tested the battery, altinator etc and said, "it's either your stalks on your colum or the fuse box". I managed to get it home, fiddled a bit and found a relay half the size of a house brick!! Clicking away to itself if i put everything on electrial. Took it out banged it on the floor (like the professionals do!!) greased it up and popped it back in. CURED!!! Why do i pay for my breakdown service?
Anyone else having this problem i suggest do the same as i was totally baffeled, why the hell all these components run through this relay and then their own relays is beyond me!! Never known anything like it!!
