Bad few days of driving!
« on: 30 August 2008, 19:06 »
Thursday: Driving towards Leeds/Bradford airport, going under the tunnel from Yeadon side about to pass someone and pulls into my lane. I take his wing mirror clean off and it cracked my lens. Ordering some new ones from Awesome.

Would you go with smoked or standard? and are they easy to fit

Also scratched the casing of the wing mirror abit so was wondering if I can replace that?

Today (Saturday): Getting abit excited over the moors and clipped the devil kerb. So does anyone know a good place preferably in Yorkshire (Leeds/Bradford area)? and are the standard ED30 alloys just silver?

Many thanks, Steve

Update: pics.

The arrows are where the black bit has been sratched, not too bothered about this, guna try get a bit of polish onto it. There are also some small chips to the plastic casing which isnt visible from the rain. And the circled bit is the cracked lense which new smoked ones are now on order thanks to Awesome.

Thats the scratched wheel, gutted about it

Nope they are not just silver  . One of the best places I've heard of is Metal Magic in Barnsley to get your wheels fixed.

as your car is black, IMO go with the smoked mirror indicators.

fitting is fairly simple if you take your time.

I got a touch up stick from VW in Titan grey, much too dark...  Even, though the paint code and colour is correct!!

Hmmmm - that's not good.  However, most touch up sticks, even genuine ones are notorious for being wrong.  Have you tried a specialist paint shop, who can factory match OEM colours from their whizz-bang computer mixers, and then get the paint put in a small pot?

That's what I do

Tagnut, there is a paint mixing shop that is very good on thingytone Road in Sheffield. If you want directions I can let you have them
