I was playing with my central locking trying to fit a remote kit.
I used the loom and wiring where the pump is, in the boot.
The remote central locking kit has wiring like this:
orange
white
yellow
orange/black <<<< These 6 are for the central locking
white/black
yellow/black
red <<<< 12V
black <<<< Earth
purple <<<< These two are for lights and trunk release but not worried about them yet.

OK so here is how far i got.
I made some sense of the instructions; not as a useless as i first thought. Managed to wire it up as it said and got the remote working, it did power the pump,etc but something is not right.
I got to a point where this happened:
The white wire off the kit was used to select unlock/lock - there is a grey wire and a green wire on the car loom and if you put the white wire on the green it unlocks it when you press unlock. Put it on the grey and press unlock it locks it. So the unlock button is working and the lock button does nothing.
But ... The yellow and yellow/black are connected to the power supply and when they are the right way round, as stated in the instructions, the unlock button works, but when you swap them the unlock button works.
So the white wire chooses unlock/lock ----- yellow and yellow/black choose which button.
??!?!?!??!??!!!
I was so happy when i got it to actually unlock, but when it wouldnt do anything else i started to move wires around and try and figure it out. So i got the info above.
Not sure if anyone can read and think - "ohh yeahh, just do this and that and it should work"
It seems as if there is a minor thing im missing to make it work, or maybe a wire needs cutting. all ready cut two; grey and green and was a bit wary when doing that.
After i just gave up and removed the kit and soldered the wires i cut back together. So it is back to normal.
I used the haynes wiring diagram. Here is the instructions:
My car uses F5 i think. Thats the diagram i used. Use F1 to see which wires are which colour in F5.
Any help will be much appreciated, i just need a little help to get it working properly and then i can wire up the lights and boot release later.
