Big clutch bleeding problem.

Hi,

I have a 2002 1.8t (180) 6 speed Golf.

We have just changed the clutch, flywheel and release bearing.

Everything went perfect apart from the fact we didn’t clamp the clutch line and LOADS of fluid came out of it (the reservoir didn’t really move).

We have now come to bleed the clutch system but we still have a very light pedal and the clutch does not actually engage.

We have put about 1.2 litres through the system via a Gunsons Ezeibleed @ 20PSI and also pumping the pedal up and down at the same time. It got a bit better as originally the pedal went straight to the floor and never came back up.

It’s like there is air in the system but we can’t get it out. The fluid is flowing out with no bubbles.

Does anybody have any suggestions as we are a bit stuck for ideas now! ??

i dunno if this will help but it got me a pedal on a vauxhall vectra once, and its something different, try back feeding the slave, crack the nipple off the closest brake caliper and connect a pipe between that and the clutch, slacken both nipples so that you pump the brake fluid from the caliper into the slave. give it a go, it worked for me once.... if not good luck sorting it
