MOT checklist
« on: 14 May 2008, 11:41 »
Just reading through various things on the internet on DIY checklists prior to MOTs and they list shock absorbers as a main point.

Mine have gone as there is a lot of bounce when I press donw on the rear of the car, so I have just order a new bilstein suspension kit from euro car parts to fit.

Only thing is the MOT is booked in for Friday and I wont get the chance to get the kit fitted prior to then?

Is this something that the MOT will fail on?

just check the normal and then take it for a test as it all depends on the m.o.t tester on that day....mine goes next friday and i will see how friendly my m.o.t guy is!! (luckily he does all my car work and knows how much has being done to it!).. i am thinking brake pipes on the front and maybe a bush somewhere?

Phoned them up and took it down there for them to have a look. There is excessive bounce in the shocks so would fail, so full Bilstein springs and shocks going on this weekend and going for test next Friday.

Wish me luck fitting them
