Fitting a Spoiler mk4 golf
« on: 10 May 2007, 13:33 »
Hi All,
I have recently bought a rear boot spoiler from ebay, i have now had the spoiler sprayed up.
does anybody have any tips on how to fit? the spoiler came with glue to bond it on but not sure how long it takes to go off and not sure how to keep it in place without standing holding it down like a lemon!

use masking tape to tape to the car, open boot and take through the gap.

Get a tube of black silicone sealer to do the edges, run your finger along it to seal it - this will stop water and wind getting underneath it and eventually ripping it off
Will always love my mk4 but she had to go...225 Quattro TT in its place....but its still black (she lives on in spirit!)

ATaylor I used powerstick on mine for an instant bond (they use it toglue kitchen worktops together) and that stuck intsantly but then the silicone I left for a while (overnight) to set
Will always love my mk4 but she had to go...225 Quattro TT in its place....but its still black (she lives on in spirit!)
