Diesel Convesion
« on: 15 May 2008, 22:58 »
Hi,
Im new to this section of the forum but a Diesel rabbit has become available to me. The body is solid and it looks like it has been sitting for about 10 years. It doesn't run. Does any one know how hard it would be to do a Diesel to gas conversion. The Diesel is a 1.5L and the gas engine I want to put in is a 1.6L. Is it possible, what beside the ECU would have to be replaced?

Thanks

if the 1.6l engine is one from a cabriolet then yeah only a few btis would need changing i think...

check out www.cabby-info.com it might help you with your questions, you can find out what engine codes were in teh cabriolets on there :) Plenty of useful information, worth ten mins of your time
