Why is my car scared of the ground?
« on: 12 May 2008, 01:15 »
My CL is on its tiptoes,  It looks like its scared of the ground!!  Compared to the GTI it seems high, they are both stock springs and shocks, was the GTI made any lower?  It could be one or the other is worn out and sagging or something but it sure looks stupid on its little steelies up in the air.  Also the TDI seems to sit more like the GTI, but its a much later one so may have used GTI suspenssion on all of them then ayway as its pretty much identical.

Basicly what im getting at is.. did they change the shocks at all?  Or is it my imagination?

I cant remember what my red car looked like as it always had alloys and i lowerd it before i had any other golfs.

As far as I'm aware it's the same as my GL. They sit 20mm higher than GTIs.

I'm hopefully getting the GTI shocks and springs to take my GL down 20mm lol!

HA i knew it   A few people had said its all the same in the past so i always thought that was the case but it just didnt look the same.

I may stick on the GTI shocks seing as i have them lying about,  fit some -15m spring caps on it while im there,  gives nice little drop without effecting the ride then.  I like the softness of my CL because my other golf is slamed and gets a bit hard after a while

even the GTI's are in desperate need of lowering!!!!! hence why the handling isn't great standard, but drop it and its pretty good

Can't drop it much because of insurance. I'm not doing the ass dropping until renewal next year lol! I'll be happy with GTI height once I've got my BBS 16s on!
