Getting four new tyres for MOT tomorrow, as my rims a perfect I dont want my rims getting scratched.
Has this happened to anyone?

not had it before myself. in the past i tend to refurb the inner wheel then have tyres fitted, deflate them and push the bead back from the edge to finish the refurb then inflate them to get bead back into place

don't go to backstreet tyre place unless you know then well.. Go to a performance tyre place like elite who understand how you feel about your alloys and be careful when fitting new tyres !!

place that fitted my tyre's today took a chunk of the black paint off the rim of one of mine   :angry:

does my head in how sloppy some people's work is tbqfh

when i refurbed mine I took them to my local place who i know..... and there still spotless...... It's pure luck but quicksh!t and similar would be a no no

Called the garage who i bought tyres from ,t hey said "yeh we have scratched alloys before, cant guarantee it"

I was like Fcku That!!! shopped around and got some other place to do um instead, all done ok now.

it depends what tyre machine they use, the type with the foot and a lever will tend to damage them, more so when the new tyres are a tight fit!

Bigger places use a diffrent type, i have not seen one in use my self but seems to push the tyre off the rim by pushin on the rubber rather than turn it and lift it off against the rim.
