PLEASE HELP-ED30 Brake pads
« on: 27 April 2008, 18:05 »
After a bit of guidance please peeps;

I do roughly 30k miles a year and have a lovely grey ed30. I want to upgrade my brake pads for something with a bit more stopping power and less fading???

I've currently done 15k miles in under 6 months and the std pads don't seem to have reduced too much so here's the question;

What upgraded pads would you recommend for the front that will increase stopping power, decrease fade and still last a while in terms of mileage? (would love a full brembo upgrade although can't justify the price when you consider the mileage I do!), if you know the price and where to buy, please include this in your reply.

Many thanks as always :grin:

I feel the same about the GTI brakes. Went to a local Seat dealer who's very supporting of doing mods on the Leon/Golf platform.
They suggested Ferodo DS2000 or DS2500 pads, and replacement of the OEM discs by National or Brembo cross-drilled brakes.

He mentioned that this is a common upgrade for Leon FR and Golf GTI owners, and that he has a stack of returned OEM pads and discs at the back  :smiley:

They quoted about 200 EUR extra over the OEM pads an discs. Don't know exactly what this totals to, as OEM pads and discs are included in my lease contract.
