Urgent brake question
« on: 25 April 2006, 23:09 »
last night i was reversing at a bit of speed, then pressed my brake pedal and it just went to the floor and dint brake as much, like when they need serious bleeding,  anyway i decided to drive home which was about 4miles, and all the way home the pedal went all the way to the floor,

got home, had a look around the engine bay and each wheel, no leakages, plenty of fluid?

started her up, pumped the pedal a few times and it was fine, and its been fine ever since??

any ideas? its a mk3 16v with ABS??  no warning lights came on or anything??

Can't think of a funy or whitty comment

Had similar  a few weeks ago with mine.  Quite scary when it happens.  Pedal was fine after but i lost confidence in brakes.  So stripped 'em to have a look.  To my surprise rear pad lining on one side had come adrift and disappeared.  This explained it.  So i'd check it out if i was you.
