Car woes

Well after replacing just about everything I can think of on my car in the last 12 months I have got a new oil leak. I haven't had time to look at were it is or indeed coming from but I'm running out of money and patience with the car to be honest. I know I should really expect a certain amount of renewal costs with the car being over 6 years old and has over 100000 miles on the clock and I'm not blaming VW, but it's really getting me down. It really is affecting the enjoyment of the product and I think I might sell (again) and get something cheaper for 12 months so I can save up for another one maybe newer or a Mk5.
Hey ho, must be spring time blues or something.
At the moment my faults are;
Idling at standstill is erratic
Another oil leak as mentioned above
Parking ding made by some T**t in Tesco's and general scratches and scuffs, which don't look too bad to be honest but really annoy me when I wash it. What do you lot think of getting it properly datiled and sorted once and for all?
My battery securing bracket has disappeared
My underbody engine cover has also disappeared (don't ask)
My air filter cover has been damaged

What engine have you got? You need vag com to get her plugged into TBH

It's a 2002 gti turbo 110kw. Is VAG.com expensive or do I have to go to VW stealers.

You can get cheap vag com leads not sure how good thay are tho - maybe someone on here coud help you out see the vag com sticky topic at the top

You could always just get a vw fault code reader like this:

As for the oil leak get that looked at asap by a local garage.

Yeah only go to the stealers for servicing, but use a little garage near me for everything else. The owner likes his VAG cars as well he had a mk1 tt then an a6 and now he has a new tt in red NICE.
He also has a man who does all his ecu reading and diagnostic stuff, he reset a fault on mine last year. He also suggested getting the butterfly thingy cleaned out in my whatsit, but I've heard it can make the idle more lumpy and may need resetting on my ecu or something.
I used to be really good with cars and would try anything from changing head gaskets and such but I seem to have lost my bottle with this car and get frightened I might ruin it, also I seem to have misplaced all my specialist tools for the jobs and don't even possess a socket set now. I will have to ring him up and book it in for the oil leak.
Over the last 12 months I have replaced so far the clutch and fly wheel, both front wishbones and anti roll bars, discs and pads front and rear, new starter motor, driveshaft seals and 3 tyres and that's all of the top of my head. Ah well It could be worse I could drive a Focus.
