Howdo all,

Just wondered if an electronic-type buzzing sound is normal (coming from the engine bay) after switching off your ed30/gti's. It only seems to last for about 5 minutes before going out. I do leave the engine running for a minute or so before switching off to let the turbo cool.

Yes thats perfectly normal, ive been told from various sources that its the coolant pump circulating coolant around (im pretty sure the turbo is cooled by it too? i may be wrong though.

Still a good idea to let the engine idle for a bit after running though of course ;)

You might also notice a buzzing noise when you first open your door after unlocking, this is the fuel pump priming i believe :D

ahh righty oh, cheers sweeney. I was given a right b****ing as a kid for switching off a heavily worked turbo-ed tractor so idling any engine before switching off has stayed with me.

Sweeney's post is right. The coolant pump continues working until the temp drops.
